Established in 2023, Mecota Trading supports farmers by consolidating microlots into exportable quantities while promoting traceable and direct trade practices. The company’s model aims to facilitate fair, sustainable trade and to enhance transparency in Ethiopia's coffee market, particularly as an alternative to the traditional Ethiopian Commodity Exchange, where traceability is often limited.

Huge move for Clan, off the smallholding into a shiny new unit, but like a fat bird on the edge of the nest, it was time. Loved the space immediately, its light, has load of space, a blank canvas. Fyn, me and the two youngest boys have been sawing, building bars, tables, flues and painting while roasting. The plan, source and roast good coffee, you can pop in, lean, drink an exceptional coffee then buy some beans. We will have little coffee events, open cuppings, film nights, its a space to fill with coffee, stories if you want to lean in. Open 10 / 5 Tuesday to Saturdays. 1st event, opening party, date to be announced.
