What do we mean by speciality coffee

Speciality coffee comes from specific regions and microclimates, producing beans with distinctive flavour profiles. It is ethically sourced, carefully roasted, and properly brewed.

Hand roasting is a balance of science and alchemy. Every coffee has its own personality, shaped by terroir, variety, processing method, and the choices made along the way. Our role is to honour that individuality and bring out the best in every bean.

Equipment & Ongoing Support

We understand how vital reliable equipment and technical support are to your coffee offering.

Whether you’re opening a new coffee space or upgrading your setup, we work alongside Southwest Engineering. Their technicians are SCA-trained baristas with exceptional expertise in espresso machines and grinders.

From servicing and pressure testing to burr replacement and repairs, you’ll be supported by specialists — so you can focus on serving great coffee.

From Crop to Cup

Coffee has been part of global culture and trade for centuries, beginning in the highlands of Ethiopia. Today, over 125 million people worldwide depend on coffee production for their livelihoods.

All of our coffee is sourced from small farmers selling through cooperatives. These growers are innovative and resilient — experimenting with varieties, embracing sustainable practices such as shade-growing in rainforests, and using processing methods like washed, natural, and honey.

Many farm in ecologically sensitive areas, support endangered species habitats, work within politically unstable regions, or champion women growers in traditionally patriarchal societies.

Let’s Work Together

If you’re interested in working with Clan Roastery — whether as a café, hospitality business, retailer, or workspace — we’d love to hear from you.
