Brazil Beatriz Atriz Anaerobic Fermentation

Been a while since have had a Brazilian coffee on our list, but two women started Bossa Coffee just a couple of years ago. Bruna growing up in Brazil in a coffee family / community and Emma originally from New Zealand, with a background in speciality coffee and Q grading. Both now in London, sourcing from friends, family and longstanding relationships in Brazil. We liked their vision for building strong roaster to producer connections, they sent us some lovely coffee samples, and as a woman led roastery they only source from women producers, so it’s a good fit for us.

In 1978, newly married, Adauto and Beatriz Guimarães set out to build an independent life in coffee. Driven by a deep agricultural legacy already nearing 100 years, they committed to growing something that would last for generations.

By 1985, the family moved to Patrocínio in search of better opportunities for their children. While Adauto focused on production, Beatriz ran the business side—laying the foundations for what would become a true family enterprise.

Over time, their sons joined the farm, each bringing knowledge in agronomy and strengthening the next generation of the business. Today, the fifth generation works together to carry the family legacy forward.

With nearly 150 years of history behind them, their focus remains the same: to grow exceptional coffee while preserving the land, the family values, and a spirit of continuous progress.
